"I had the honor of working with Yoga For the People's (YFP) founder in 2014 and finally got involved with the project and its mission in 2023. I believe yoga is a gift that all people should have the opportunity to experience, without financial barriers. This is how I have actualized my own teaching practice and YFP fits right in with me and my values. I know YFP has touched many lives and I feel so lucky to get to continue this effort. I am a 500-hour certified yoga teacher and love teaching grounding, accessible classes. I have my master's degree in Nonprofit Leadership and it has been a wonderful adventure to lead YFP as the volunteer program manager. I currently work as a consultant for climate action and serve as the president of the board of directors for Denver Food Rescue. The intersections of sustainability, service, and spirit are where I feel most at home in my work and life. My favorite yoga pose is revolved low lunge (parivrtta anjaneyasana)."

"I joined YFP as a social work intern in 2021. Since the beginning, I felt a strong connection to YFP values and the organization's commitment bringing wellness and belonging into spaces that often do not have access. As a social work intern, I learned the unique and powerful ways to incorporate service in community while also feeling deeply connected to the healing powers of yoga within my own practice. Upon graduation, I humbly joined as a Board member in the summer of 2022 knowing the spirit of the organization and the organic synchronicity of my two passions, yoga and service, was still and continues to be very near and dear to my heart. Being able to stand up both yoga and social work in a way that draws people to new perspectives, new inner healing, and new community connections, is the ultimate privilege in being a YFP Board member. I completed my Bachelor's of Arts from the University of Denver in 2017, Master's of Social Work from Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2022, and became YTT certified in the spring of 2021. I currently work as a program administrator within Denver Human Services at the City and County of Denver where I develop and manage community programs designed to support housing access for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. My favorite yoga pose is Supported Fish Pose (matsyasana) because it is safe and loving, and allows me to both rest and rejuvenate.

"My journey with YFP began in the summer of 2018 as a Social Work student intern. I was deeply moved by the integration of yoga and social justice, aligning my passion for physical and spiritual wellness with my core values of accessibility and inclusivity. In 2019, I became a member of the YFP Board of Directors, leading efforts to expand wellness initiatives to underserved communities, supervising social work student cohorts, and teaching yoga to Hispanic immigrant women. In 2022, I furthered my commitment by co-founding the YFP Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee together with my colleagues Jordan and Haley, advancing our organizational commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable environment. With over five years of experience as a mental health provider, I specialize in supporting children over nine years old, adolescents, and young adults. Yoga has been vital to my personal well-being for over two decades, and after becoming a mother in 2022, yoga has helped me navigate the profound physical and emotional transformations of motherhood. Child's pose (balasana), in particular, has become a sanctuary of comfort and connection, helping me find peace in its stillness."

"I got involved with YFP right after my YTT 200 hour training in 2010. I wanted to do some kind of volunteer work around yoga because of how good it made me feel. I taught classes and sat on the board until 2016 when my job interfered. Fast forward to 2023, I'm in another YTT and wanted to reconnect with YFP. I work full time as a business administrator for my son in law. I'm 70 years old and wanted to forge a stronger relationship to yoga as I entered another stage of life.Favorite pose...probably triangle pose (trikonasana) but really, any pose that I've just finished."

"I was an intern and yoga teacher for YFP during the 2019-2020 school year. After my internship I took a short break then rejoined YFP as a board member in December 2020. I am currently a part of the DEI Committee for YFP. I felt drawn to the mission and vision of YFP and have personally seen and experienced the magic one of its yoga classes can provide. I started practicing yoga in college and have been on and off the mat ever since. I completed YTT in the summer of 2019 which deepened my personal practice and allowed me to teach for YFP. I have Bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a Master's of Social Work from Metropolitan State University of Denver. I am currently a Licensed Social Worker at Jefferson Center for Mental Health on the Assertive Community Treatment team working with folks with severe and persistent mental illnesses. My favorite pose is mountain pose (tadasana) as I often find myself using it off the mat."
