YFP was founded in 2006 to foster wellness for all communities by providing quality, accessible, community-centered yoga programs and trainings. YFP believes that when people practice yoga, they choose balanced, joyous, nourishing and loving lives. In 2008, we successfully obtained our 501(c)(3) nonprofit status.
Between June and December, 2014, Yoga for the People volunteer yoga instructors taught close to 80 free or by-donation yoga classes at seven different sites in the community, including Warren Village, Denver Housing Authority and Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital. Through support from individuals like you, 90 adults, children and youth, mostly first-time yoga students, were able to move their bodies, quiet their minds and build community through the practice of yoga.
Yoga For the People's influence has been far-reaching within the Denver area. The following map shows some of the sites and agencies we have served in the past. Please visit the "Locations" page for a map of current sites.
