Yoga for the People (YFP) fosters wellness for all communities by providing quality, accessible, community-centered yoga programs and trainings. YFP believes that when people practice yoga, they choose balanced, joyous, nourishing and loving lives.  Last year, we provided 279 agency- and community-based classes for partner nonprofit organizations and low-income communities, serving 1,617 people who could benefit from yoga but may not have equal access.  We are a quickly growing part of the more than 20 million people practicing yoga in the United States today.

YFP is a grassroots, volunteer-run organization that relies on the support of the yoga community to match volunteer instructors with nonprofits who help unserved, underserved or at-risk people.   In addition, YFP provides support and education for yoga teachers choosing the path of yoga in service to those in need, and research and evaluation on the benefits of yoga.   Tree with Deep Roots
We believe that every choice we make is rooted in either love or fear. When we choose a loving thought, it feels good. When we choose a fearful thought, it feels bad. Our choices create habits that hardwire our bodies and affect our wellbeing. When we practice observing our choices, we get better at choosing loving thoughts. We gradually learn to consciously choose love, and we feel better and better. At Yoga For the People, we believe that yoga is an incredible tool for helping people to learn to observe their thoughts. When people practice yoga, they become more calm, centered and focused, and they become more conscious of their thoughts (and actions). With regular practice, they begin to live healthier and happier lives, and they are better able to practice love in the face of fear.  Yoga for the People is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, and donations are tax-deductible.  Volunteers are always needed. Please click the icon below to make a secure online donation via Paypal.
