Yoga for the People works with health and human service providers and yoga teachers to create sustainable yoga programs for communities in need. We offer three programming cycles to help us plan for, recruit and train the necessary volunteers to run yoga programming. Applications to be a site are accepted for 6-week and 12-week programs, as well as one-time and “in between” requests. We offer classes any time from once per month to twice per week, depending on the population you serve and available budget. We offer one-time classes on a very limited basis, as we know that consistent practice is necessary for people to receive the benefits of yoga.
In special circumstances, we are able to accommodate last minute requests or requests that come in mid-cycle, based on our team’s availability and nature of the request. We highly encourage you to incorporate yoga programming into your annual program cycle so that we can best accommodate your needs.

Yoga for the People carries a $1 million liability policy that meets the requirements of all of our partners to date, including Denver Health and University of Denver. Our instructors carry personal insurance as well. Services are provided on a sliding scale based on organization budget and depth of programming desired. We are also available for one-time trainings and presentations for your staff and volunteers on topics ranging from the health benefits of yoga, how to start a meditation practice, self-care, practicing yoga with special populations and others.
If you are interested in yoga at your site, please complete the site application form or e-mail volunteer@yogaforthepeople.org for more information. Due to demand for services, we are not always able to accommodate every request – if you have flexibility in your preferred times and dates, please be sure to let us know. We look forward to working with you!
